Lesson 16 Capstone Review and Next Steps
Present evidence of calculation accuracy, procedural consistency, and a realistic understanding of what remains unknown.
Submit a complete learning record
- Your plan: A versioned demo plan with the assessed strategy rules and all operational and risk constraints.
- Three candidate reviews: At least one qualifying setup and one rejection, showing the decision rule, available information, executable prices, cost aware size, and margin. Use the guided paper cases when needed and label them.
- Historical test: Thirty chronological eligible trades with 20 development and 10 untouched evaluation trades, plus the rejected signal log, cost assumptions, ambiguities, and a cost sensitivity analysis. Continue collecting data if the sample is incomplete; do not invent trades.
- Forward practice: At least ten dated demo observation sessions with results, skipped candidates, rule breaches, and reconciled orders where applicable. Keep paper mechanics exercises separate.
- Review report: A 500 to 800 word explanation of what you did accurately, what failed, whether the process was followed, and what the sample cannot establish.
- Final assessment: Complete the 25 questions separately before reviewing the feedback in your submitted result.
Evaluate the evidence honestly
Report net performance and process quality separately. If the historical test gains money but the demo process breaks rules, do not call the exercise a success without discussing the breach. If rules are followed and the sample loses money, the loss is valid evidence about that tested version. Describe development and holdout results separately, include all costs used, and explain any incomplete historical news filter or unreliable price data. A simplified test can demonstrate mechanics, but it does not satisfy a claim that the full setup was evaluated. For a fully assessed test, supply the missing evidence or use a dataset that supports the rules.
Choose the next learning action
Your next step may be additional demo practice, a better dataset, a simpler hypothesis, or deciding that trading is unsuitable. Educational completion does not require opening a live account. Neither a small profitable sample nor a completion certificate establishes future results. If you independently consider live trading later, first verify the legal product and provider for your circumstances, understand the account agreement and protections, and assess whether you can afford the potential loss without affecting essential expenses. A decision to remain in demo or stop trading is valid.
Check your understanding
After the four lessons in this module, complete Module 4 knowledge check from the course overview. It contains the three questions from each lesson with feedback after submission. Keep written calculations in your workbook. Use the Final project and completion link in your course overview to submit your evidence. A qualified reviewer must approve the capstone before the app records assessed course completion and makes the completion certificate available.
