What browser storage means
Cookies are small values a site asks your browser to store and return on relevant requests. Local storage keeps preferences on your device and is separate from cookies. Storage can be limited to a particular hostname; FavAcademy’s member and staff portals do not share one parent-domain login cookie.
Authentication cookies
The member portal uses the __Host-fav_user session cookie; the staff portal uses __Host-fav_admin. These are Secure, HttpOnly and host-only. The configured server session lifetimes are 120 minutes for members and 20 minutes for staff; additional security controls can end or revoke a session earlier. Session renewal can extend an active session. These cookies support authentication and essential security rather than advertising.
Website appearance preference
Choosing a light or dark website appearance stores favacademy.website.appearance in local storage. Choosing automatic appearance removes that explicit preference. Local storage has no automatic browser expiry unless the application removes it or you clear it. It does not give the website access to unrelated files on your device.
Tool and portal preferences
Some tools can save calculation or timezone preferences when you choose their save control. Use the corresponding forget/reset control, where provided, or clear site storage to remove those device preferences. Account preferences stored on the server are distinct from local storage and are managed through account settings. Private values should not be entered into public tools unnecessarily.
Infrastructure and optional third parties
Security infrastructure may use additional challenge or abuse-prevention storage depending on the request. Infrastructure storage and durations can depend on the security features applied to a request. Contact us for help identifying a particular browser value. Non-essential analytics, advertising or embedded tracking must not be introduced without appropriate notice and any required consent. This page does not claim that a universal cookie preference panel currently exists.
Your controls
You can inspect and delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Blocking essential session cookies can prevent sign-in or other protected functions; clearing preferences can reset appearance or tool choices. Settings may need to be changed separately for www.favacademy.com, app.favacademy.com and admin.favacademy.com.
